Madhya Pradesh:With the new odd-even scheme still in the pipeline for Delhi, the Madhya Pradesh government has taken a drastic measure of disallowing commercial vehicles older than 15 years to ply the roads in the state.
Speaking to media, the Transport Minister Bhupendra Singh said that the decision was taken on the account of the rising pollution. Accoring to reports, he noted, old vehicles would neither be issues new permits nor given fitness certificates.
“Police and transport department would launch search operation as well,” he added. He also said that the government is considering to reduce the age limit for getting licence from 18 to 16.
