Severe cold in Kashmir Valley to continue
Jammu/Srinagar: Kashmir Valley is expecting severe conditions of cold in the coming days. On Tuesday, the temperature marked a minus 2.3 degrees Celsius.
“”Katra town recorded a minimum temperature of 6.3 degrees while Batote had 2.5, Bannihal minus 0.1, Bhaderwah minus 0.4 and the mercury settled at 4.3 degrees in Udhampur town,” said an official at local Meteorological department.
The rapid fall in the temperature recorded Jammu city was 6.2 degrees and the highest temperature noted was 18 to 19 degrees Celsius.
“The minimum temperature recorded at Srinagar city was minus 2.3. However, Pahalgam recorded a minus 4.4 and Gulmarg noted a minus 6.0 degrees Celsius. Leh town recorded minus 11.1 and Kargil town minus 11.4 today as the minimum temperature,” the official said.
Dry weather is likely to continue in Jammu and Kashmir for the next two days.
