Bajaj V, a new model made from scraps of INS Vikrant

All the bike riders out there, can from February 1, 2016, take home the INS Vikrant India’s first aircraft carrier. Sources from the Bajaj said that the new model of motorcycles likely to be launched this year will be made from the reduced scrap of INS Vikrant lying in the Mumbai shipyard.

The motorcycle is called Bajaj V. As per records the INS Vikrant was commissioned in 1961 after being brought from UK and was used by the Indian Navy for 36 years. The aircraft carrier was decommissioned in 1997. However, despite the attempts to convert it into a museum, the plan was in vain. The whole ship was scrapped in 2014. As per history, the aircraft carrier played a prominent role in the 1971 war.

On Tuesday, the Bajaj had released a video which announces the launch of the new model that is likely to be unveiled in February this year. The company spokesperson said that they had bought the invincible metal of INS Vikrant and was used it manufacture the motorcycle model.
