India ranks 52nd in Travel and Tourism

As per reports compiled by the World Economic Forum, India has been ranked the 52nd in the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index 2015.

Out of the 141 countries listed in the rankings, India ranks the 62nd. It has gained 13 places over its last year’s standing.

So far the top 5 countries with the highest score so far Spain, Germany, United States, and United Kingdom.

The bottom 5 countries however are Chad, Guinea, Angola, Yemen, and Mauritania.

The parameters for the competitiveness index 2015 score for 141 countries. The index considers four sub-indexes and 14 pillars besides 90 indicators.

The indicators include business environment, safety and security, health and hygiene, human resources and labour market, information and communication technology readiness. Prioritization of travel and tourism, international openness, price competitiveness, environmental sustainability, air transport infrastructure, ground and port infrastructure, tourist service infrastructure is some of the adding factors.

The score is 4.02 in this index.
