On Wednesday, the scientists of the Indian Space Research Organisation were congratulated by the President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This was after India’s fifth navigation satellite was successfully launched into space.

“Heartiest congratulations to the ISRO team on the successful launch of navigation satellite IRNSS-1E,” the president said in his message.

While Narendra Modi wished the scientists on his twitter page. “Congratulating the dynamism and determination of ISRO and our scientists on the successful launch of PSLV C31 and putting IRNSS-1E in orbit precisely,” read the tweet.

Earlier today, an Indian Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket blasted off successfully with the country’s navigation satellite. This is the fifth in the entire series. Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System-1E took off from the rocket port at Sriharikota.

Once fully operational, the IRNSS will provide accurate position information service to users across the country and the region.
