Digital Villages next in line: Ravi Shankar Prasad

At the Annual India Conference 2016, organized by the Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School in Boston, the Union Minister of Communications and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad had spoken about the positives of Digital India campaign.

He claimed the campaign was designed to empower India and bridge her digital divide. The minister during his keynote address had stressed upon the role played by technology in bringing transparency into governance.

On similar lines as Smart City, the government plans to introduce the Digital Village concept, wherein, wireless, virtual connection, a digital health center, solar powered LED lights and a digital education center would be integrated into the village system.
