New Delhi: An advertisement billboard across 50 Delhi metro stations carried messages asking people to celebrate 14th Feb as ‘Matri Pitri Pujan Divas’ or mother father worship day. Apparently the Hindu outfit, Bal Sanskar Kendra, hired the space. The ads warn of police action against couples celebrating or displaying affection on Valentine’s Day. The group have also offered their help to parents to inculcate ‘acche sanskar’ into their children.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, India gears up for celebration and precaution. Hotels, gift shops have introduced packages and cards for couples struck by the cupid. However, on the other side, the right wing fanatics have knotted their pants tight to prevent the celebration that disrespects our culture and society, according to them.
The billboard ad shows a picture of convicted Godman, Asaram Bapu, in between two kids. One pair seeks blessings from their parents while the other hangs their head in shame after being caught for celebrating Valentine’s Day.
After the pictures went viral on social media, the Delhi Metro ordered an inquiry. However, the Hindu outfit has stated that the ads were paid for and have to be displayed till February 14th.
