Anand Sharma attacked by ABVP activists in JNU

ANAND_SHARMA_14615f-1Deputy Leader of opposition in Rajyasabha Anand Sharma was attacked by the ABVP activists inside JNU campus after coming back from a protest meeting held at JNU campus against the Police crack down.

Witnesses said that , Sharma was physically assaulted and attacked with stones and was bleeding profusely. Some sources said that Rahul Gandhi’s vehicle was Gandhi out by an alternate vehicle as the alleged attackers had surrounded the vehicle of the Congress vice president as well.

“Today is a black day for India’s democracy. Deputy leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Shri Anand Sharma and a senior Congress leader were publicly attacked by government protected ABVP goons at JNU campus in Delhi. We condemn this cowardly attack in the strongest possible words,” Congress leader Randeep Surjewala told media.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi was shown black flag by the ABVP activist in JNU. While addressing the student he said that most anti-national people are those who suppress the voice of students and he also added that the Centre is now terrified of people raising their voices . He also alleged that these same people or their leaders said that Rohith Vemula was an anti-national.
