New Delhi: Ninety percent of Indians are “idiots” who can easily be misled by mischievous elements in the name of religion, Press Council of India (PCI) chairperson Justice Markandey Katju claimed back in 2012. Many defied him and even labelled him in an atrocious manner.

The recent turmoil at the Jawaharlal Nehru University has received the attention and opinion of every Indian. Do we know what really happened? The characters involved? Are our opinions biassed?
