The budget session of the parliament for the Central Government would commence by February 23rd focusing mainly on the financial money matter. The presentation of the General Budget is scheduled to be held on February 26, 2016. There would be suggestions to curb the recess on account of the Assembly elections which are due for a few states. The decision was taken by the Cabinet in a meeting for parliamentary affairs chaired by Rajnath Singh.
“The budget session of parliament will commence on February 23. The Rail Budget will be presented on February 25, the pre-budget economic survey on February 26 and the General budget on February 29. The first part of Budget session will end on March 16 and the second part will be convened from April 25 to May 13,” said Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Venkaiah Naidu, after the meeting of the cabinet.
Arun Jaitley, hopes that the opposition would find proper reasons to accept the Goods and Service Tax (GST) which is being stacked at Rajya Sabha. The bill has been supported by most political parties and the minister hopes that it would be a reality sooner than later.
