‘Hey Ram’ period crime drama turns 16, Kamal Haasan nostalgic

Mumbai: ‘Hey Ram’, a controversial, yet enlightening period crime drama turned 16 today. The movie stars Kamal Haasan and Shah Rukh Khan. The actor took to twitter to express his nostalgia about the film.

The 61-year-old actor took to Twitter to thank his fans and the crew, who made his directorial venture possible.


Haasan also remembered actor Mohan Gokhale, who died during the shooting of the film. Atul Kulkarni was roped in to play his role.

“Mohan Gokhale. After sculpting Abhyankar beyond my expectation died. I Reshot with Atul K, who won the national award. Thanks to Mrs. Ghokle.” said Kamal Hassan. The actor also added, “One day I wish to showcase late Mohan Gokhale’s performance for all to see. A day before he died I told him he might win awards for his role… He died after completing 90 per cent of his work. Loved MG.”

Legendary composer Ilayaraja had composed the music for the film, which was simultaneously made in Tamil and Hindi.
