Hijack sequence shooting emotionally and physically taxing: Sonam Kapoor


Mumbai: ‘Neerja’, an upcoming Bollywood flick with Sonam Kapoor has received adulation from various quarters. The actress herself described her shooting for a hijack sequence was physically, emotionally and mentally taxing.

She was at IIT Mumbai, promoting the movie. When asked about the shooting process, Sonam Kapoor said, “The hijack sequence took over 16 hours and the director Ram Madhvani decided to shoot it as it is”

“We were on the plane for 16 hours doing what exactly everybody else in 1986 did. It was a fully functioning plane except it didn’t have the engine to fly.” She added.

The 39-year-old star plays the role of Neerja Bhanot, a brave hostess, who hid the passports of American passengers and later succumbed to death, during a hijack situation. The flick also stars Shabana Azmi, who plays a lead role. The movie will be released on Feb 19th.
