Washington DC: The possibility for an Indian American to take over as the Justice of the US Supreme Court has been doing the rounds lately. Sri Srinivasan was unanimously confirmed for a seat on the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, by the Senate in 2013
The sudden death of US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has presented President Barack Obama with a historic opportunity as well as a major challenge during his last term in the White House.
The White House has been shortlisting candidates and neither the administration nor Mr Obama has been giving clues about the type of nominee they are seeking.
Mr Srinivasan has won broad support from the parties. He has worked in the US Solicitor General’s office during both the Democratic and Republican administrations as well.
