Jat agitation: Popular Trains Resume Service

Getting back to normalcy, 35 popular trains have resumed operation today. This includes Katra Mail, Kalka Shatabdi, Amritsar Shatabdi and Jammu Rajdhani. However service of 60 more trains are still affected due to the Jat stir.

“There are about 60 trains still affected. While some are cancelled, others are diverted or short terminated due to the disturbances caused due to the agitation,” said a senior Railway Ministry official.

According to the official steps are underway for restoring the services of as many trains to facilitate passenger movement.

Services for Chandigarh, Amritsar, Hoshirapur, Jammu, Katra and Udhampur from here have been resored,” he added.

Bramhaputra Mail and Udhampur AC Express, Andaman Express, Himachal Express, Shan-e-Punjab and Kerala Express are among those which have resumed service.
