Mumbai: The market on Wednesday opened on a negative note. The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) fell short of points during the morning session of the trade.
Although on Tuesday the Sensex closed at 23,410.18 points, the Sensex of the BSE, on Wednesday, after opening at 23,332.94 points touched a high of 23,338.99 points and then dropped to a low of 23,241.56 points.
The Sensex is trading at 23,244.87 points down by 165.31 points, or 0.75 percent.
The broader 50-scrip Nifty at National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 7,075 points after closing at 7,109.55 points on Tuesday.
The Nifty is trading at 7,067.80 points in the morning.
