Mortal remains of Siachen soldiers brought to Delhi

New Delhi: The mortal remains of the brave hearts who sacrificed their life guarding the highest battlefield has reached Delhi today. The bodies were airlifted to Delhi from Leh after marking their respects at the cantonment.

On Saturday, the mortal remains of the soldiers were successfully moved to the base camp in Leh. The bodies were moved to the Military hospital in Hunder for embalming and custody as the weather continues to remain extremely adverse in Basecamp. After reaching Delhi, the Cheif od Army staff, Cheif Marshal and Vice Chief of Navy paid their respects to the fallen soldiers. The Chief Minister of Delhi was also present at the wreath-laying ceremony.

The martyrs are Subedar Nagesha TT, Havildar Elumalai M, Lance Havildar S Kumar, Lance Naik Sudheesh, Sepoy Mahesha PN, Sepoy Ganesan, Sepoy Rama Moorthy, Sepoy Mustaq Ahmed and Sepoy Suryawanshi S V .
