Adding a different twist to the intolerance debate is the Jet Airways’ decision to suspend the cabin crew on the flight in which Sonu Nigam reportedly sang through the address system. The singer was appalled at the decision and has expressed his anger openly.
The videos supposedly taken by fellow passengers showing Sonu Nigam singing in the flight have been uploaded online. A distraught Sonu Nigam said the Indians need to loosen up.
“To suspend crew members for asking me to sing on the address system, when the seat belt signs were off, and no announcements were to be made, is nothing less than punishing someone for spreading happiness.
Pity there’s no one to question such harshness except the media perhaps. Indians, need to loosen up. This act of lack of common Sense, according to me, is real intolerance”, this was reportedly Sonu Nigam’s comment on the issue. “I have witnessed an elaborate fashion show in an aircraft. I have heard of small concerts happening in an aircraft. I have seen pilots and crew members cracking humorous jokes to loosen up passengers in other countries, which is so cool,” he added.
Sonu is seen sporting a t-shirt and jeans, singing his songs from the movies Veer Zaara and Refugee in the video.
