New Delhi: Taking a swing at the ruling government's blind attitude to their party workers violence, the Congress party on Wednesday said that that the former was defending the untoward violence done by its party members as well as the targeting of the JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar. The Congress party asserted that Kanhaiya was targeted for condemning the RSS and the ABVP.
"BJP's justice- Umar raised anti-India slogans.MLA O.P. Sharma and lawyer Chauhan thrashed students and journalists, but there was no investigation on it," said Congress leader Digvijaya Singh. He also added, "Kanhaiya, who spoke against the Sangh and the ABVP is facing sedition charges and is in jail. Good days have really arrived for India. Jai Ho!
According to Police sources, Umar Khalid has been identified as the man behind the incident at JNU campus.
However, the report said that Kanhaiya Kumar didn't raise anti-national slogans but was just standing with DSU activists and Umar Khalid, who has been absconding since then.
