The controversial movie, Aligarh with ‘anti-homophobia’ as its main theme is all set to be screened at JNU tomorrow.  It will be shown at 2 PM tomorrow at school of arts and aesthetics.

“Excited to show Aligarh at JNU tomorrow. No better place to have conversations on society, politics and our film than this hotbed!,” film’s director Hansal Mehta said in a Facebook post tagging actor Manoj Bajpeeyi.

The critically acclaimed movie starring Manoj Bajpayee is based on the life of AMU professor Ramchandra Siras who was suspended from his job because of his sexual orientation. He later committed suicide.

Supporting the right to dissent of JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar who was released from Tihar today after being lodged there for 18 days in a sedition case, Mehta said on twitter , “Don’t know #KanhaiyaKumar enough to be a supporter. But I support his right to dissent. And I support my right to dissent”.
