Three people lost their lives and seven endured burn injuries in a firecracker factory blast in Rajasthan’s Kota district, said a police officer.
The incident took place on yesterday evening when the workers were engaged in manufacturing of the firecrackers.
“The explosion occurred late in the evening on Tuesday. Three persons died on the spot while treatment of seven others who sustained burn injuries is going on in hospital in Kota,” a senior police officer said.
The factory is located near Chainpura area in the district, over 255 km from Jaipur.
“We have started investigations into the cause of the explosion,” the police officer said.
According to the initial observation, it looks there was mishandling of inflammable material in the factory, he added.
