Delhi High Court fixed March 23rd as the date to hear pleas regarding the cancellation of bail granted to JNU Students Union President Kanhaiya Kumar.
A judge the other day referred petitions for cancellation of interim bail of Kanhaiya Kumar to the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court to allocate it before another bench.
The court took the decision after objections were raised by one of the petitioners on warning that they may have to bear the cost on dismissal of their pleas.
A local court in Delhi reserved for 18th March to pass on orders on JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya’s bail pleas in a sedition case. The bail application was opposed by the police on the ground that allegations were grave as they were the main organisers of the campus event on the 9th of last month.
