Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has started despatching the much awaited moto scooter ‘Navi’ to showrooms across India. Navi, which is completely a ‘make in India’ product is neither a scooter nor a bike. It has been totally developed by Honda’s Indian R&D division from the concept to the production stage and stands for “New additional Value for India”. It was first revealed at the Auto Expo-2016 in Noida, earlier this year. Honda’s experimental model got an unexpected attention and acceptance to receive more than 1000 orders within one month. Navi app, which lets you book the vehicle online, has registered over 20000 downloads in the google play store.
Navi has the similar specifications of the highly popular ‘Honda, with a 109cc engine having a power of 8bhp@ 7500rpm and a torque of 8.96Nm @ 5500rpm. Like the activa, Navi also features an automatic gear transmission (V-matic). Honda Eco Technology provides the advantages of improved combustion, significantly reduced friction and optimized transmission. Navi offers a comfortable ride with a pair of telescopic front forks and spring loaded hydraulic rear forks. Another feature is tubeless tyres which are controlled by 130mm brake drums.
The biggest attraction of Navi is its unique crossover design which prevents you from a typecasting such as scooter or bike. Honda is also offering a range of customization and modification options on the model to attract youngsters. Navi is available in five colors – Patriot Red, Hopper Green,Black, Shasta White and sparky orange.It is offered at an ex-showroom price of Rs 39500, while the on road price (in Mumbai) is Rs 43500.
