India invites European Parliament president
Parliaments of India and the European Union having a vital engagement, India has invited European Parliament President Martin Schulz for a visit.
“President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, has been invited to visit India this year,” said Vikas Swarup, spokeman of external affairs ministry.
The invitation was extended during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s daylong visit to Brussels on Wednesday, during the course of which he attended the 13th India-EU Summit.
Following the summit, Schulz, along with president of the European Investment Bank Werner Hoyer, joined European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker in a working dinner hosted in honour of Modi.
