“Jai Gangaajal” movie starring Priyanka Chopra has been made tax- free in Madhya Pradesh, filmmaker Prakash Jha started his acting career with the movie.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh mentioned in his official twitter page that films “Neerja” and “Jai Gangaajal” have been declared tax free throughout the state. Neerja movie portrays the life of Neerja Bhanot who sacrificed her life trying to save the passengers onboard of the Pan American flight 73.
“Films promoting women empowerment, ‘Neerja’ and ‘Jai Gangaajal’ declared tax free in the state, on the directives of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan,” read a tweet from the Chief Minister’s Office on Thursday.
Jha was appreciated by the audience for his acting skills in the movie and says he is grateful to the state and the CM.
“Grateful to Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Madhya Pradesh,” Jha tweeted.
“Jai Gangaajal” was released on Friday and Jha took up the role of a corrupt police officer named B.N. Singh, while Priyanka cast the role of an officer named Abha Mathur.
