Kashmiri separatist leader Geelani suffers heart attack in Delhi
On Thursday, Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani suffered a minor heart attack and has been admitted to a hospital, his spokesman said.
“It was a minor heart attack. Thank god, he is stable,” said spokesman Ayaz Akbar.Geelani, 86, was admitted to the Max Hospital at Saket in south Delhi.His condition is stable. Geelani has been in Delhi for the past few weeks.
A senior doctor at the hospital said Geelani was suffering from brethelessness and high blood pressure.
Geelani heads the hardline faction of the Hurriyat Conference and is a vocal supporter of Jammu and Kashmir’s merger with Pakistan.
