Weather in Kashmir shall improve after Sunday noon
Weather across Jammu and Kashmir shall improve on Sunday afternoon after two days of rain and snowfall , an officer of the meteorological department said.
Continuous rain in the plains and snowfall in the higher reaches took place in Jammu and Kashmir during the last two days, decreasing both day and night temperatures.
“The Western Disturbance (WD) is still persisting over Jammu and Kashmir. Although there has been no rain in the valley for six hours, it is still raining in the Jammu region,” Sonam Lotus, director of the local meteorological department said.
“The weather will be clear from tomorrow afternoon onward.”
The strategic Jammu-Srinagar national highway was closed on Friday evening because of landslides in Sher Bibi in Ramban district.
“Vehicles will be allowed to move on the Jammu-Srinagar highway after the weather improves,” an officer of the state traffic department said in Jammu.
Authorities have issued a warning of disaster in the higher areas of the state, trying to migrate the natives.
