Kolkata: Communist Party of India(Marxist) CPI(M) leader, Suryakanta Mishra lambasted prime minister Narendra Modi for saving Trinamool Congress (TMC) on the Saradha Chit Fund scam in a series of tweets. He also accused PM Modi for shielding TMC on the recently released Narada sting videos. ‘Who is stopping the PM to send the Narada sting to Rajya Sabha ethics committee?’, Mishra tweeted. He also asked about the delay in ordering the NIA probe in Khagragarh blast case. He also wanted to know the outcome of the probe in another tweet.
Mishra, leader of opposition in the West Bengal assembly, said PM Modi and his BJP has a match fixing deal with the TMC in the upcoming polls. He said the Left Front's call for a Left democratic secular government has made both Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the prime minister "jittery". ‘What about your 2 times alliance with TMC in the earlier NDA?’ Mishra asked.
He asked why the influential ones could not be identified even after two years. "Why has CBI slowed down Saradha investigation? Who protected West Bengal chief minister and top TMC leaders? PM silent in election meeting in WB.” Mishra tweeted.
Mishra's tweets were in response to PM Modi's speech at an election rally in Kharagpur on Sunday. PM Modi had attacked TMC over corruption charges. He also denounced the CPM and Congress for forging an alliance in West Bengal while being the rivals in poll bound Kerala. He also alleged that no development had taken place in the eastern state during Mamata’s five-year rule and instead of becoming an industrial hub, Bengal had become a bomb making centre.
But Mishra asked whether the PM was not aware that TMC was promoting the making of bombs and firearms. He alleged that all the bomb factories unearthed so far, have been at the houses of TMC leaders. He reminded the PM that the Left Front government had started supplying food grains at a rate of Rs 2 per kilogram, before the National Food Security Act was implemented. "Let Killers of Gandhi & worshippers of Godse be busy in establishing busts of Nathuram!! Bengal vows not to let an inch of it to them," the politburo member said in another tweet.
West Bengal Congress supremo Adhir Chowdhary also alleged that Modi's speech was an attempt to cover up his party's illicit connection with the TMC in Bengal.
