Virat Kohli never disappointed his fans with knocks. On this happening sunday, Kohli just did a 63 ball 100 against Gujarat Lions. When we check his last matches scorecard, it says; 82*, 89*. 75, 79, 33, 80. So he must have been fed up with scoring fifty in every matches and today did a great knock of 100.
The master class performance finished with back to back boundaries in last 2 balls. He celebrated the century in the typical Kohli way.
On 85 with one over to go, Kohli found himself near to his maiden T20 century. The RCB skipper went after Bravo in the last over and hit the West Indian all over the park to go to 96 with one ball remaining. Kohli steered a delivery outside off stump to the third man boundary on the final ball to finish the innings with a century off 63 balls.
Kohli and AB de Villiers have enjoyed their time together at the crease so far this season, and it looked like that would continue as they brought up a fifty stand, but De Villiers would fall for 20 just as he was starting to get into his stride.
While, Lokesh Rahul gave a good support to kohli by scoring his fifty out of 34 balls.
This is his first T20 hundred and he did it with a style. This maiden century in IPL will be a major task for Gujarath lions to defend RCB's 180. RCB won two matches while defending so far in this IPL season, maybe their thin bowling line up need to make more sweat to balance the knock of Kohli.
Kohli says the wicket has been breaking up through the innings. It may be a tough chase. Don't expect the dew to come in too soon, although the hotter the day is, the cooler it gets after sundown in these parts. But when Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith stride, no total will feel safe.
