Pakistan Rangers violated the ceasefire agreement by firing at a Border Security Force (BSF) post in Samba district of Jammu region, a senior police officer said.

“Pakistan Rangers violated the ceasefire by firing at the Regal border outpost of the BSF on the international border in Samba district today,” the police officer said.

“They used automatics (automatic guns) to target the BSF post, but no damage occurred due to Pakistan firing. There was no retaliation from BSF side.”

Ceasefire violation on the international border in Jammu and Kashmir has happened on a day Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting the northern state.

There are no reports of any casualty or injuries to anyone from the Indian side.
