Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living foundation claimed that he tried to open a dialogue with the Islamic State group. But all he got was a photograph of a beheaded man.
"I tried to initiate peace talks with the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) recently but they sent me a photograph of a beheaded body of a man. Thus, my effort for a peace dialogue with the ISIS ended," he told media in Agartala. The self acclaimed spiritual leader suggested IS need to be dealt militarily . He urged the militant outfits of the region to hold peace talks with the government.
He said the National Greet Tribunal's decision to fine the Art of Living Foundation Rs 5 crore for allegedly causing environmental damage to the Yamuna flood plains in Delhi "was politically motivated". The event which was held for three days last month was criticised by the environmental activists. They alleged that the Delhi government, which was responsible to protect the Yamuna bank gave approval for the programme illegally. National Greeen Tribunal took up the issue and fined the organisers of the programme for 5 Cr. Sri Sri Ravi shanker was often seen as taking a pro RSS position on many issues.
