Sonia Gandhi calls on Advani to offer condolences
Congress president Sonia Gandhi visited senior BJP leader L.K. Advani’s residence in New Delhi to pay tributes to his wife Kamla Advani who passed away on Wednesday.
Extending her condolences to Advani, Gandhi had on Wednesday said she shares the pain caused by their loss and prayed for the departed soul.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday described her as a “pillar of strength” to Advani and noted that she also motivated party workers. He had also visited Advani’s residence to pay his tributes.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also visited the Advani residence on Thursday.
Kamla Advani died following a heart attack. Doctors at AIIMS said the 83 year old was “unconscious and unresponsive when she was brought to the hospital.”
The cremation would be held at 4 PM at Nigam Bodh Ghat.The funeral procession would start from Advani’s residence.
Advani and Kamla were married in 1965 and have two children, Jayant and Pratibha. The couple last year celebrated their 50th marriage anniversary.
