Entry tickets for the Taj Mahal visit and other historical monuments in Agra raised its cost.
Ticket for a foreign visitor is now available at Rs. 1000 which was raised from Rs.750. Ticket rate for domestic visitors increased to Rs.40 instead of Rs.20 earlier.
On Thursday, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) announced the new rates, to be effective from April 1.
Tourists will also pay more for tickets to Sikandra, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Etmauddaula and other known monuments.
The Taj Mahal, built in the 17th century, is India’s biggest tourist attraction.
