Amitabh Bachchan to host Modi government’s second anniversary celebrations in Delhi

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will host a five-hour long show at the India Gate in Delhi to mark the completion of two years for the Narendra Modi government, Hindustan Times reported.

The event is likely to comprise talk shows over the government’s achievements, interspersed with cultural programmes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the function. National braodcaster Doordarshan will telecast the event live.

According to the reports, government is  trying to get other bollywood stars and TV personalities for participation in this event, contours of which are being finalised.

The Prime Minister and other ministers will speak about the government’s achievements including Jan Dhan, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gramin Jyoti Yojna, LED bulb distribution scheme, Swachch Bharat and rural employment guarantee scheme.

“Bachchan is most likely to attend. Elaborate arrangements are being made for the events. Select ministers will be present to market the schemes that has benefitted the people,” HT quoted an official, who is dealing with preparations.

A fortnight long Vikas Parva will be celebrated after May 26. Modi will address a rally in Saharanpur on 26 May, followed by rallies in different parts of the country.
