BJP president Amit Shah and Union Finance minister Arun Jaitley addressed a joint press conference over the controversial queries raised by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on the educational qualifications of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Narendra Modi has a graduate degree from Delhi University and a Post Graduation from the Gujarat University. Here I am showing the certificates,” said Amit Shah after displaying the certificates in front the media. He slammed Kejriwal for raising baseless allegations against the Prime Minister. He also asked Kejriwal to apologise for the same.
“For the last few days, Arvind Kejriwal has been spreading lies about the PM’s qualifications. He has tried to defame the PM by claiming that his degrees are fake,” said Shah.
“Today I want to show you all and clarify that both the degree certificates owned by the PM are true and authentic. We will give you all a copy of these certificates. The PM has got a BA from Delhi University and also an MA degree from Gujarat University. It is a shame that we have to clarify it,” Shah added
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has given testimony to corroborate the arguments of Amit Shah.
” I had been there in Delhi as the leader of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, during the 70s. I remember Narendra Modi, then activist of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh used to come to Delhi and stayed in ABVP office during the time just after the emergency. He had been coming to Delhi to write his Degree examinations in the Delhi University,” explained Jaitley.
Jaitely reminded Aam Aadmi Party party of the case of its own MLA Jitender Singh Tomar, who had been detained for allegedly forging a fake Law degree certificate of Bihar University.
Further , Jaitley took a dig at AAP saying: ” The degree issue is been raised by only party (AAP) in the country whose leaders are being being prosecuted for having fake degrees.” He also said it was a public discourse at its lowest mentioning the allegations raised by Kejriwal.
