Malda: At least four people were killed and four others seriously injured when crude bombs stored in a house exploded in West Bengal’s Malda district, police said on Monday. The Rapid Action Force (RAF) and other district police officials immediately reached the spot and shifted all to Malda Medical College and Hospital. Four were declared brought dead while six others are serious and undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The incident happened late Sunday night in Baishnabnagar area of the district.
“The incident occurred when crude bombs were allegedly being made in the house of one Giasu Seikh in the area bordering Bangladesh at around 1 AM,” Superintendent of Police Syed Waqar Raza said.
Those who died are reportedly Trinamool Congress workers who were allegedly making the bombs when they accidentally exploded.
