With the launch of new car BRV, Japanese carmaker Honda has made a grand entry into the highly competitive compact SUV segment. The compact SUV BRV was launched today at the price of Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car comes in two engine options: the 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. It will be competing with the Renault Duster and the Hyundai Creta.
What’s unique about the car is that it’s the country’s first 7-seater compact SUV. Honda’s front-wheel drive SUV is being offered with a choice of two engine; while the petrol version produces 117bhp along with 145Nm of peak torque, the diesel produces 98bhp and a maximum torque of 200Nm. Honda dealerships are accepting bookings for the SUV with a token amount of INR 21000.
Honda BRV comes in 4 trim options and is priced up to Rs 12.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The compact SUV comes in two transmission options. It is offered with a 6-speed manual and a CVT (petrol). Honda BRV returns a mileage of 15.4Km/l (Manual Transmission) and 16Km/l (Automatic) for the petrol variant. The diesel version has a mileage of 21.9Km/l.
