A 25-year old woman from Hyderabad who was working as a house maid in Saudi Arabia tortured to death. Asima Khatoon from Shah colony in Dabeerpura, Hyderabad died in King Saudi Chest Disease Hospital where she was undergoing to treatment after the alleged molestation. The death was confirmed after the mother of Asima got a phone call from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia informing about her death on Thursday. More details regarding the death and alleged torture is awaited.
Earlier, Chief Secretary of Telangana Rajiv Sharma had written a letter to the concerned department in Saudi Arabia to rescue the woman from her employer who used to allegedly torture her mentally and physically. Asima, had complained to her mother after she joined as a maid about her employer who allegedly attack her more often.
Meantime, it has been learnt from the sources that Asima reached Saudi on a house maid visa obtained from an agent. The investigation has started on how did she manage to get a house maid visa, even after the government has stopped issuing it two years back.
25-year old Asima started working as a house maid in Saudi from December 2015.
According to the family of Asima, she telephoned to her house only one time in which she informed them about the instance of torture she experienced from her employer.
The police has started looking into the murder.
