Right activist Gladson Dungdung offloaded from London bound AI flight
Human right activists Gladson Dungdung was offloaded from London bound Air India flight. He alleges government is trying to target him because of the his stand on adivasi rights
Gladson Dungdung, human right activist and writer was offloaded by the Air India from its Delhi- London flight. He was going to London to attend a workshop on Environmental History and Politics of South Asia conducted by the University of Sussex, UK tomorrow. The activist was told by the Air India staff that his passport need verification and hence cannot be allowed to travel. But Gladson Dungdung said though his passport was impounded in 2013 , it was returned after verification . He claims that after that he had travelled to attend international conferences in Denmakr and London in 2014 and 2015.
He alleges that the government did not allow him to travel because of his book " Mission Sarada: A War for Natural Resources in India" He said in his Facebook post that though the government will not offload defaulters like Vijay Mallya, activists like him are targeted. He said his fight for the Adivasi's ownership right over the natural resources, human rights, ecology will continue till the state take away his right to life forever
Gladson Dungdung published "Whose country is it Anyway" in 2013. He has spoken internationally on human rights issues.
