Starwood closes Ras Al Khaimah deal, Hotel to open by 2019
Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. is an American hotel and leisure company headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut. One of the world's largest hotel companies, it owns, operates, franchises and manages hotels, resorts, spas, residences, and vacation ownership properties under its 11 owned brands. The UAE already being a home to them have expanded their roots to Ras Al Khaimah now, which will see its first hotel in the first quarter of 2019.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced the signing of Four Points by Sheraton Ras Al Khaimah with Hamarain Real Estate.
The hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of the year 2019, the hotel will be Starwood’s first property in Ras Al Khaimah and the fourth Four Points by Sheraton in the UAE, the hotel giant said in a statement.
“We look forward to working together with Hamarain Real Estate to introduce our first property in Ras Al Khaimah,” said Neil George, senior vice president, Acquisitions & Development, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Africa and Middle East.
The new Four Points will be offering an accommodation within the scales of 300 rooms and serviced apartments and four food and beverage outlets. The hotel will be a part of a mixed-use development featuring offices, residences and a shopping mall.
Starwood said it plans to more than double the brand’s portfolio in the Middle East with eight new hotels scheduled to open in the coming five years.
Starwood operates 53 hotels and resorts across the Middle East under eight of the company’s ten lifestyle brands. With a pipeline of over 40 hotels, the company said it is on target to operate 100 hotels in the Middle East by 2020.
The UAE remains Starwood’s largest market with 25 operational hotels and 17 properties in the pipeline.
