Two years of NDA: Narendra Modi to kick-start 15-day long celebrations from Saharanpur
Narendra Modi will inaugrate 15-day long clebrations of his government’s two years in power by addressing a rally in UP’s Saharanpur district. BJP chief Amit Shah will address media persons at party headquarters in New Delhi.
Modi’s cabinet colleagues will also be holding rallies as well as news conferences across the country to highlight the programmes of the government. BJP has also asked its MPs to camp in their respective constituencies for at least a night during the 15 day celebrations. Apart from this, MLA’s of all parties in the BJP led alliance will organise week long programmes in their constituencies so that the message of the work done by the Modi government will reach the grassroots.
Acording to the reports, the BJP will hold 200 news conferences across the country to publicise new schemes to be launched on the second anniversary of the government.
The mega event will be held at the iconic India Gate on Saturday. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan will host host the programme which is slated to start from 5 pm. A slew of cultural programmes is being organised. A newly composed song “Mera desh badh raha hai, aagey badh raha hai” will be played. Apart from it, short films and interviews of ministers as well as people who have benefited by schemes, launched by various ministries will also be aired.
During the programme the prime minister and other ministers will speak about the government’s achievements including Jan Dhan, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gramin Jyoti Yojna, LED bulb distribution scheme, Swachch Bharat and rural employment guarantee scheme.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday gave the go ahead to this programme after a meeting with Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.
Apart from Delhi, similar programmes will be hosted in six other places such as Shilong, Mumbai, VIjaywada, Jaipur, Karnal and Ahmedabad. All these programmes will be beamed live by national broadcaster Doordarshan.
Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh Congress has decided to launch a massive protest against centre’s policies and Narendra Modi’s two years in office.
The party has named its campaign as “Modi Sarkar Ke Do Saal, Desh Ka Bura Haal” (Two years of Modi government and sorry state of affairs). Senior party leaders including former minister and party spokesperson, Girija Vyas will address party workers on Thursday to expose failure of centre’s economic and foreign policies.
