Apple’s iOS 10 is the latest OS released by the electronic giant at the annual World Wide Developer conference (WWDC 2016). The company unveiled significant improvements to the design and functionality of its four major platforms, iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS, in the keynote marking the beginning of conference in San Francisco.
Unveiling the new features, Apple CEO Tim Cook named the release as “the mother of all releases”. The new release packs 10 major more improved features for iOS.
The developer preview of Apple’s iOS 10 is now available to iOS Developer Program members at developer.apple.com. The public beta version will be made available to iOS users in July. Some of the latest addition to the earlier OS are:
iMessage: New features of this app look like a lot of fun as it comes with exiting emojis like heartbeats and haptic signals, text or images scribbled by hand, and of course stickers. Users can embed Apple Music links and videos and recipient can play the links within the Message app. Instant reactions and full-screen animations features will also add even more impact to the receiver.
Siri: The upgraded version comes with APIs that finally allow it to control third-party apps. Users can use it to send WhatsApp messages, book cabs, make Skype calls, or anything else. It also comes with keyboard text predictions, allowing for better multilingual experiences and more useful autocomplete suggestions.
Apple Music: The new Apple Music update has new navigation and features designed to make it easier to find music you like. Lyrics on the Now Playing screen has been added to the feature.
Phone calls: One of the most intersting feaure of Apple is showed off transcribed voicemail feature. After the Visual Voicemail which was introduced nearly 10 years ago, this is the latest added to this feature.
3D Touch: The upcoming generation of iPhones will be able to harness more 3D Touch features. Redesigned notifications will allow users to see more information and send responses without even opening the respective app. This feature is made available to the current 6s and 6s Plus models.
