Man who attacked Kanhaiya post selfie with Amit Shah
Manas Deka posted a selfie with Amit Shah on Facebook on Sunday
Manas Deka, the man who allegedly tried to strangulate JNU student's union leader Kanhaiya Kumar on board an aircraft in April, posted a selfie with BJP president Amit Shah on Facebook.
Deka was leading a delegation of Assamese youth to meet Amit Shah.
The BJP president was in Pune to launch a state government initiative, 'Pramod Mahajan Skill and Entrepreneurship Mission'. The delegation met Amit Shah just before the programme and took selfie with him.
Deka is working with a software firm in Pune.
On 24 April, Kanhaiya Kumar alleged that Deka tried to strangulate him on board in a Pune-bound Jet Airways flight. Mumbai Police has registered a case against Deka on Kumar's complaint.
The RSS and its affiliates started attacking Kanhaiya Kumar after he launched scathing attack on Modi government for its alleged practice of criminalising dissent.
Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested in Febrauary this year on sedition charges after he took part in a procession in the JNU campus. The police said that some students raised anti-national slogans in that programme and Kumar was also part of it. Delhi High Court granted him bail three weeks after his arrest.
