Bollywood actor Salman Khan drew flak once again for his analogy with ‘raped woman’, not too long after he was criticised and left sporting fraternity divided as he was named goodwill ambassador by the Indian Olympic Association. He reportedly said he used to feel like a “rape woman” after shooting a scene on Monday.

2016: Rio Olympics Goodwill Ambassador

 Salman Khan, whose appointment as goodwill ambassador for Rio Olympics, had kicked up a storm. His appointment drew criticism from some sportspersons, experts and analysts, who felt a sportsperson would have better suited the job.

2014: Saifai Mahotsav

Salman Khan faced flak for performing at the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav’s Saifai Mahotsav at a time when hundreds of refugee families are suffering in Muzaffarnagar. The actor defies the outrage of people saying that he was only doing his job.

2013: Big Boss

The actor had been hosting Bigg Boss for four years. In the seventh season, the superstar  has been getting both pats on the back and brickbats on the microblogging site Twitter for being partial towards Bigg Boss 7 contestants and actress Tanisha Mukherjee. People felt that he was biased when it comes to Tanisha and alleged that he defended her due to the fact that she is actress Kajol’s sister.


 2010: 26/11 Remark

Salman Khan was criticised severely for his remarks that the 26/11 attacks were hyped because “elite people” were targeted, during an interview to a Pakistani channel. He later apologised for his “insensitive” comments.

2008: Brawl with Shah Rukh Khan in Katrina Kaif’s Birthday

No one could anticipate that a star-studded birthday party of Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif would turn into battle. Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan had a brawl during the bash dividing the industry into two camps.

2002: Hit-and-run case

Salman Khan ran into trouble after his SUV ran into a bakery in Mumbai. One person who was sleeping on the pavement killed and three others were injured in the mishap. After more than 13 years of legal battle, he was acquitted  all criminal charges that he had been held guilty of by a trial court in 2015.

1999: Poaching Case

Salman Khan was accused of poaching three Chinkaras and a black buck  in September-October 1998 while shooting for the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ in Jodhpur.
