Suicide Bomb attack kills 40 in Kabul
40 Afghan policemen have been killed in a suicide bomb attack on a police convoy just outside the capital Kabul in Afghanistan.
The Taliban’s official spokesman, Abdulqahar Balkhi, claimed responsibility for the attack on two military vehicles on Twitter.
Two bombs hit vehicles carrying cadets returning from a graduation ceremony on the city’s western outskirts. Preliminary reports suggested that the incident took place in the 5th police district of the city, Khaama Press reported.
The attack comes only a week after a similar attack on a bus carrying Nepalese security guards working for the Canadian embassy killed 14 people in the capital.
