iPhone maker Apple is going to hold the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote 2016 today at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, and the event is piqued the interest of millions of Apple fanboys. Apple plans to live stream the event which starts at 10 AM PT (1 PM in New York, 6 PM in London, 7 PM in Paris).

All Apple device users will be able to watch the event. The Cupertino, California based tech giant will be sharing updates on the 2016 iPhone (or the iPhone 7), Mac, Siri and many more exciting things at the 2016 WWDC. Those who have a new Apple TV may download the Apple Events app in the App Store and watch the keynote. Users with old Apple TVs can simply turn on their devices. The website mentions the software requirements to watch the live stream of Apple WWDC keynote 2016 event. Live streaming uses Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on iOS 7.0 or later, a Mac with Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or later, or a PC with Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Streaming via Apple TV requires an Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) with software 6.2 or later or an Apple TV (4th generation).

It seems like the theme of this year’s keynote is software, software and even more software.

iOS 10

Apple is bringing big improvements to its mobile device operating system, iOS 10. Rumors have it the next OS will have an all-new interface, Siri will get more control and Apple Music will get a big update. With iOS 10, and Apple's new OS X update, Siri is said to be making its debut on MacBooks.

Soon Apple users may be able to use Siri across a wider variety of apps as Apple is planning to open up its voice-enabled assistant to third-party developers.

After the controversy surrounding the FBI and the iPhone 5c of San Bernardino shooter, it is expected that the new iOS will have improved security as the security agency was able to crack open the device without Apple's help.

Also, Touch ID fingerprint sensor may debut on Apple Mac devices.


The watchOS 3 could get upgrades to improve its performance and battery life.

Apple could make more iOS apps work on the Watch as well. Rumors have it that Apple will tweak the interface of Watch OS 3 and provide more customization options.

iMessage will come to Android

Speculation has it that Apple is planning to introduce iMessage to Android. Now Android users will be able to use this app from Apple as well.
