Why Sushma Swaraj's tweet praising Narendra Modi for Indians released from Qatar prison is all wrong

Qatar performed the annual release of the prisoners on the occasion of Ramadan which was appreciated by the Indian PM, Who went for a visit, in a tweet. But Sushma Swaraj got the whole deal wrong which reflected in her tweet.

Why Sushma Swaraj

Indian PM Modi who is on a five nation tour, flew to Qatar as well to discuss about ideas and initiatives that can be implemented to improve the ties between India and the Gulf nation.

Qatar is presently home to nearly 630,000 Indians coming from different parts of India and has the largest group of expatriates in the middle east with a population of up to 2 million.

Therefore, the Indian nationals comprise a major component of the working class and have been supporting the backbone of Qatar for a long time now.

During Narendra Modi's visit, The Amir of Qatar, His Highness Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, hosted the Indian PM with all the hospitality and affection a world class leader would and their meetings majorly comprised of accelerating the bonds between the two nations, economic progress and social harmony among the masses from both the communities.

The State of Qatar released 23 Indian prisoners along with prisoners from other nationalities on Monday as a part of their twice annual pardon of prisoners, one being in the beginning of Ramadan while the other being on the Qatari National Day, December 18.

But this has been misrepresented on Social Media. This is something which is performed by the State of Qatar twice a year, pardoning prisoners based on the degree of crime and the improvement of behavior of the arrested prisoners and has nothing to do with any other factor which is out on news.

The Indian PM stated in an appreciation tweet by acknowledging the move by The Amir of Qatar's gesture.

PM Narendra Modi, after completing his two day visit from Qatar flew for Switzerland on Sunday.

This fact has been mentioned to state the establishment of the co incidence of the PM's trip and beginning of Ramadan which intersected each other and so did the events of, pardoning of prisoners in Qatar and end of Modi's trip in Qatar.

Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sushma Swaraj did not bother to check facts before tweeting that it happened because of PM Modi's visit.

She actively tweeted that the release of the prisoners was due to the efforts of PM Narendra Modi, passing on distorted information and painting the whole pardon of prisoners event as a part of Modi's charismatic approach which must have made the Amir of Qatar to pardon the Indian prisoners which in reality was simply the tradition which is followed in the country to pardon prisoners, twice a year. Every year.

The fact that the Assembly Elections in parts of the country are imminent and the BJP-led government is making efforts to boost their image by capitalizing on such incidents is evident.

Is she illogically branding Modi as an international leader to win the support of people in the upcoming elections? We would appreciate to see Modi (or any leader for that matter), as a proven International leader based on the results of accomplishments and not on the results of misinterpreted information we get to see on twitter.

By tweeting this, Sushma Swaraj has exposed the efforts of the government, crediting Modi for every good thing happening around irrespective of the fact and reality of the situation.
