Woman gang-raped in a moving car in south Delhi
Nothing seemed to have changed for women's safety in the national capital. The woman was abducted, raped and dumped not far away from where Nirbhaya was brutally raped and left to die in 2012
A 25-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped in a moving car by three men while returning home after watching a movie in south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar area on Thursday. According to police, all three accused have been arrested.
The woman, accompanied by a female friend, was returning home after watching a movie at PVR Priya around 3.15 a.m. on Thursday when she was abducted.
The victim's friend made a call to the police control room immediately when the woman was kidnapped. She later told police that the two of them were walking towards Munirka when the three men in a car approached them.
In her police complaint, the woman said the accused raped her inside the moving car before dumping her near Poorvi Marg in the Vasant Vihar area.
"One of the men pulled my friend inside the vehicle and drove away," the police officer quoted her as saying.
The assaulted woman was taken for a medical examination that confirmed rape, following which a case was registered and the three men were arrested,” the police officer said.
The car was traced since the victim's friend had noted down its registration number.
"With the help of its registration number, we traced the car owner in Geeta Colony (east Delhi). The accused were arrested within hours after the medical examination of the woman confirmed rape," the officer said.
The accused were later sent to judicial custody by a local court.
