Woman IT Employee Hacked to Death at Chennai Railway Station

In a shocking incident at Nungambakkam railway station in Chennai, a 24-year-old female Infosys employee was brutally hacked to death with a sickle by an unknown assailant on Friday morning.

According to media reports, the victim identified as S Swathi, a resident of Choolaimedu was waiting for a suburban train to work at Mahindra Tech city when a young man wearing a green shirt and black jeans approached her. After a heated argument between them the attacker took out a sickle from his bag and started assaulting Swathi before fleeing from the scene.

Swathi suffered several cuts on her face, neck and body and bled to death on the railway platform.

Following her usual routine, Swathi was dropped at the railway station by her father just minutes before the incident took place. From the preliminary clues, police suspect the assailant to be someone close to Swathi.
