In a major jolt to AAP government, CBI has arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Principal secretary Rajendra Kumar in connection to a corruption case, along with four others.
Earlier, CBI has conducted a raid in 50- year-old Rajendra Kumar’s office in December 2015.
According to the CBI sources, he had indulged in a 50 crore scam in 2006 and has favoured certain companies in awarding government contracts from 2007-2014.
The CBI officials said that he, along with four other accused, will be produced in the Patiala court, Delhi on Tuesday.
The sources also confirmed that Deputy Secretary in Kejriwal’s office, Tarun Sharma has also been arrested.
Earlier, Kejriwal had questioned the Prime Minster Narendra Modi for holding raids in the office of his close aides and accused him of witch-hunt.
In a scathing attack on Modi, Kejriwal had taken it to the twitter that Modi was resorting to cowardice, since he was unable to take on him politically.
“When Modi cudn’t handle me politically, he resorts to this cowardice. Modi is a coward and psychopath,”
