Home minister Rajnath Singh will be travelling to Pakistan amid tension between two countries is raising day by day. Rajnath Singh will attend the South Asian Association for Regional Corporation (SAARC) interior /home ministers meet to be held in Islamabad next week.

It is not known whether Rajnath Singh will engage with Pakistan authorities during his stay in Islamabad.

But in the meeting he is likely to raise the issue of cross border terrorrism

At the 13th SAARC Summit held in Dhaka last year it was decided that  Interior/Home Ministers would meet annually  to strengthen cooperation among member countries  in the area of counter-terrorism.

Relation between two countries became strained after India accused Pakistan of triggering unrest in Jammu and Kashmir after the killing of Hizbul militant Burhan Wani.

Pakistan in turn eulogised Burhan Wani as Martyr.

Prime minister Nawaz Sharif last week said Pakistan will continue to support what he called the liberation struggle of Kashmir. Pakistan observed black day in protest against ‘civilian killing ‘ by Indian security forces.

Rajnath Singh during debate in the Parliament had come down against Pakistan for instigating violence in Kashmir. He ruled out the intervention of third party to resolve the Kashmir issue

High level talks between two countries halted after the Pathankot terror attack in last January. India allowed Pakistan investigators to examine the area to ascertain whether terrorists from Pakistan carried out the attack. But the investigators from Pakistan after returning to Islamabad said that there is no evidence to suggest that Islamabad based terrorists attacked Air Force station at Pathankot.
